Heart rate data has been vastly used in health-related fields, representing user’s fitness stats. Since heart rate can also indicate people’s emotion apart from physical situation, how about we combining heart rate data with entertainment?
I developed this system to explore such possibility. Using XBee and 3D printing, I created this ball-shaped wireless heart rate monitor, which constantly sends real-time data to computers. With the video player I built in Chrome application, audience can actively affect combination of movie clips by changing their heart rate. The higher their heart rate is, the more intense the spot will be.
